The Algarve, is just two to three hours flight time from most European capitals, has been a magnet to many discerning golfers for almost three decades. Portugal’s southernmost region is famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline. The main golf season is from late autumn to late spring. Winters are mild and golfers from northern European countries can enjoy warm, sunny days and keep their swings smooth at a time when their home courses are unplayable.

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is a 4.692 km (2.915 miles) race circuit located in Portimao, Portugal. Construction was finished in October 2008 at a total cost of €195 million (approximately $250 million), the project includes a karting track, technology park, five-star hotel, sports complex and apartments.
Major Events include - FIA Formula One Testing, FIA GP2 Series, A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix of Nations, Portugal, World Series by Renault, FIM World Superbike Championship, FIA GT Championship.
Slide & Splash Water Park - Lagoa

Slide and Splash is one of the leading attractions in the Algarve. It's a day of having fun riding on various water slides of all different shapes and sizes and splashing in the huge pool areas. The park is good for children of all ages, particularly excellent for young children.
Slide and Splash also has huge open grass areas to relax on, so there is plenty of room for everyone, even at the height of the season. If you’re not inclined to try the slides you can relax in the shade of a palm tree and or just enjoy a leisurely swim in the sunshine.
There are several kiosk selling snacks, ice creams and drinks and a self-service restaurant or you can simply take your own picnic along. The park is very safe, clean and well maintained and each slide has its own lifeguard. You can hire out sun loungers, parasols and lockers if you wish.
Slide and Splash is great fun and great value and should be on your list of things to do whilst on holiday in the Algarve. Slide and Splash journey time is approx 25 mins from Lagos.
